"Seasons of Blue Sky: Through the Photographer's Lens"
On exhibit October 29 - November 30, 2025
Featuring photographers Susan Hill and Bob Hill.
In their own words:
"Our ongoing photographic study of Blue Sky Ecological Reserve is an exploration of the quiet resilience and fragile beauty of this unique Southern California landscape. Over the course of many visits, we've witnessed the reserve in shifting light, changing weather, and through the cycle of seasons. Each photograph becomes both a record and a meditation—capturing not only what is seen, but what is felt when immersed in its trails, oaks, and open skies.
Blue Sky is a rare pocket of protected habitat, where chaparral, riparian corridors, and oak woodlands converge. Drawn to the subtle transitions within this environment: the way fog lifts from the canyon floor at dawn, the stark geometry of bare branches against winter skies, and the golden light that lingers in late summer, we seek to reveal the delicate balance between endurance and vulnerability that defines this place.
This body of work is not only about beauty, but about presence and preservation. Blue Sky reminds us of what remains when open spaces are protected—habitats for wildlife, sanctuaries for reflection, and living landscapes that hold the memory of time. Our photographs aim to honor this space and encourage viewers to consider the importance of safeguarding such ecological reserves for future generations."
