[ARCHIVED] September 2024 Art Exhibit

Kerry Robin Immersive2 (002)

Immersive Places

On exhibit August 28 - September 28, 2024

Experiences of deep imaginary places that evoke tranquility and amusement.  Viewers can allow themselves to be part of a different environment than their normal lives.  The works challenge you to trust and test your own comfortable zones, while immersing your own imaginations and allowing you to be carried back to your roots. Each piece captures a time and place that one can relate to and feel a sense of peace and happiness.

Kerry Riché is a local San Diego abstract artist, born and raised in New England. Having grown up on the East Coast and traveled in Europe, Kerry’s works of art capture the vibrant colors and peaceful nature of these areas. Her determination to express harmonious places on canvas allows the viewer to identify happiness.

She has completed commissions for both residential and commercial spaces throughout San Diego and New England. Her main subjects relate to water and nature, but Kerry has also created art for the medical fields. Notable commissions are located at UCSD neurology and cancer departments.

Kerry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and further studied towards a Master of Art in Interior Design from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. Following her studies, Kerry spent fifteen years in the print industry and computer design, which has established her place in the world of contemporary art.

Unruly in her journey, Kerry Riché challenges demands to create sensible art. She finds joy in all things and looks forward to translating it into tangible art.

Robin Burgin, Artist and Somatic + Sensorimotor Arts Practitioner, empowers individuals to access their inner wisdom and facilitates healing through the power of somatic experiencing and creative expression. Robin's passion lies in creating a space for authentic expression and self-exploration, reminding us that our bodies hold the key to healing.

Her art is an outward expression of her felt sense – her visual vocabulary. The language is articulated through rhythmic and fluid, vibrant, bold markings that represent the spectrum of sensations arising from her lived experience.

Art is a resource. It's just her and the canvas – no rules. Feelings and sensations become action, and each mark is made precisely where it's meant to be. It's a moment where a calm and exciting tingle dances across her skin, and her heart beats with fervor. Then comes the inevitable moment of fearing the next mark will mess everything up. But she takes it one step at a time, knowing each mark contributes to the piece's intended whole.

She paints to learn, to see what emerges and takes form.
